Account Security
Protect the account with two-factor authentication and review activity.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Open Profile.
- Find Two-factor authentication.
- Click Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the manual setup secret.
- Enter the current six-digit authenticator code.
- Complete the email verification step.
After 2FA is enabled, GChat asks for an authenticator code during sign-in.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication
Disabling 2FA requires confirmation with the current authenticator code and an email verification code. This prevents someone with an open session from silently removing account protection.
Security Events
The Security events tab records activity such as:
- successful login and logout;
- password changes;
- session termination;
- 2FA enabled or disabled;
- profile or avatar updates.
Each record can include the date, event, IP address, operating system, browser, and additional details.
Profile Changes
The Profile changes tab shows changes to your profile and who caused them. Use it when reviewing unexpected account updates.
If you do not recognize a security event, change your password, enable 2FA, and contact a workspace administrator.
