Facebook Messenger
Connect a Facebook page inbox to GChat with Meta OAuth.
The Facebook Messenger integration connects a Facebook page inbox to GChat.
Use this integration when customers write to a Facebook page and operators need to process those messages in the GChat inbox.
Connection Method
Facebook Messenger uses an OAuth authorization flow.
Click Connect Facebook to open the Meta authorization flow and confirm access to the Facebook page.
Connect Facebook Messenger
- Open Integrations.
- Under Create Integration, select Facebook Messenger.
- Click Connect Facebook.
- Sign in to the correct Meta account if prompted.
- Select the Facebook page that should be connected.
- Confirm the required permissions.
- Return to GChat and check that the integration was created.
After Connecting
After the page is connected:
- Check that it appears in the Integrations table.
- Enable it if needed.
- Create or update a group in Settings -> Groups.
- Link that group to the Facebook Messenger integration.
- Assign staff profiles to the group.
- Send a test page message and confirm it appears in the inbox.
Permissions
The Meta authorization flow controls which page and permissions are available to GChat.
If the needed page is not visible during authorization, check that the Meta account has access to that page.
Troubleshooting
Page Is Not Available During Connection
Make sure the Meta account has access to the page and permission to manage messaging integrations.
Messages Do Not Appear in GChat
Check that:
- The integration is enabled.
- The page was selected during authorization.
